Welcome to Procurement

The Procurement Department of San Mateo County resides within the County Executive's Office.

The Procurement Department provides procurement services to all County departments and acts as a regulatory mechanism to help county departments obtain maximum value for each dollar spent while maintaining compliance with all relevant County, State and Federal, laws, ordinances and policies.

Procurement also connects with and assists vendors in doing business with the County.

The Procurement Department received the Award for Excellence in Procurement (AEP) for the first time in 2022, 2023 and in 2024. This award is only conferred on organizations that demonstrate a commitment to procurement excellence.
