No BBQs in Drop-in Picnic Areas, Nov 5 & 6
On Tuesday–Wednesday, November 5 & 6, BBQs are not allowed in drop-in picnic areas due to a Red Flag Warning. Park visitors in reserved picnic sites are restricted to charcoal BBQs only—no wood fires.
Knoll Area Closed, Nov 5 & 6
On Tuesday–Wednesday, November 5 & 6, the Knoll Area of Coyote Point will be closed to visitors due to a warning of high winds that may cause tree debris and even tree limbs to fall on park trails.
Magic Mountain Playground Closed, Nov 7
Magic Mountain Playground will be closed Thursday, November 7 while crews repair the playground surface.
Beach Center Restroom & Showers Closed Until Further Notice
At the Beach Center on the Promenade side of the park, the restroom and showers are currently closed while repairs are made to sewer lines.
Eucalyptus Trails Closed
Eucalyptus trails below the Captain's House in the Knoll Area remain closed due to damages from the winter 2024 storms.
Eucalyptus Playground Decommissioned
The Eucalyptus Playground at Coyote Point has been decommissioned due to age of equipment and unavailability of replacement parts. There are no immediate plans to install new play equipment.
Closure on Bluff Trail
A portion of the Bluff Trail that has been closed for 18 months following a landslide that occurred during the winter storms in 2023 could be repaired soon pending review by the San Francisco Bay Conservation and Development Commission (BCDC). The damage has been included in FEMA’s disaster declaration which makes it eligible for emergency funding. Once permits are granted by BCDC, repairs are expected to begin in September with work completed in October.
