  • The Department of Emergency Management (DEM) recently hosted our first Coastside Resilience Infrastructure Strategic Plan (CRISP) event on May 30th: an insightful in-person lunch meeting at Supervisor Ray Mueller's office. This initial gathering brought together stakeholders and local organizations to discuss coastside infrastructure needs, marking the launch of the first phase of our project.

The resilience of coastside infrastructure is crucial for our community. It ensures that essential services and facilities remain operational during and after adverse events, protecting both residents and businesses. Robust infrastructure supports economic stability, public safety, and environmental sustainability, making it a key priority for our county.

The primary objectives of this in-person meeting were to inform stakeholders about the project process, engage the community in planning, and foster support for coastal resilience initiatives. Attendees gained a deeper understanding of the CRISP project and had the opportunity to discuss how we can collectively contribute to coastal resiliency. The meeting focused on understanding the critical infrastructure needs of local communities and exploring how CRISP can positively impact these groups. We are pleased to report that this event was a tremendous success, setting a positive tone for future engagements.

We look forward to hosting more events in the future, where we will continue to collaborate with our community and stakeholders to strengthen our coastside infrastructure. Together, we can create a more resilient County Coastside! Stay tuned for updates on upcoming events and opportunities to get involved.
