David joined the County Attorney’s Office in 2004. In 2013, he was promoted to Government Lead. In 2015, David was promoted to Chief Deputy County Attorney. In 2023, he was promoted to Assistant County Attorney. He currently is assigned to advise: the Sheriff, the Narcotics Task Force, the Northern California Regional Intelligence Center, serves on the Child Protective Services Team and as the contract General Counsel for Peninsula Clean Energy. He also supervises the Litigation Team and a number of other public safety and welfare clients. In the community, he was a member of the San Mateo County Bar Association Board from 2010-2020 and served as President in 2019. David served two terms on the San Carlos Planning Commission and was a two-time Chair, two-time Vice-Chair and Chair of the Residential Design Review Committee, Treasurer and member of the Board and Executive Committee of Peninsula Temple Sholom, on the Development Committee of the Service League, a coach for high school Mock Trial and a grader for the California Bar Exam.

Prior Experience
Upon graduation from law school in 2000, David clerked for District Judge Robert Timlin in the Central District of California followed by Circuit Judge Fortunato Benavides in the Fifth Circuit Court of Appeals. He then worked as a litigation associate at Howard, Rice, Nemerovksi, Canady, Falk & Rabkin.
