Dan joined the San Mateo County Attorney’s Office in 2010. In 2017, he was made Lead Deputy for Labor and Employment and in 2021 he was promoted to Chief Deputy.
Dan has represented several County departments during his time at the County Attorney’s Office, including the Controller’s Office, the District Attorney’s Office, the Human Resources Department and several local school districts.
Dan has also handled a range of litigation matters for the County including wage and hour, wrongful termination and personal injury matters.
His current work focuses mainly on labor and employment issues, employee compensation, complaints of improper activity, County boards and commissions and procurement.
In 2022, Dan received a recognition award from the County Counsel’s Association for his work on labor and employment related issues during the COVID-19 pandemic.

Prior Experience
Upon graduation from UC Davis School of Law in 2004, Dan joined the law firm of Reed Smith, LLP. While there, Dan worked in the firm’s Commercial Litigation Group handling a wide array of litigation matters.
