Jeanne Heise is a Docent at the Fine Arts Museums of San Francisco (de Young and Legion of Honor Museums) and a Guide at The Cantor Arts Center and Anderson Museums at Stanford University. She also serves as the Western Regional Director of the National Docent Symposium Council. As a Docent/Guide, she shares the collections of the museums with a large and diverse audience. She is particularly interested in providing access to art to communities often overlooked, including those with dementia and those who are neurodivergent.
She holds an MBA from Stanford University and worked in high-tech marketing.
As a life-long arts lover and advocate, she is serving her 6th year as District 4 Commissioner for the San Mateo County Arts Commission. Over those years, she has been greatly impressed and encouraged by the vibrancy and diversity of the arts communities within our county. During her tenure, she has participated in the development of several large-scale public arts projects within the county, in yearly grant making, and Poetry Out Loud and Arts in Corrections programs.
As a member of the commission, she hopes to improve communication between our constituents and the commission, and to increase awareness of what the commission can do for our arts organizations, throughout the county.
